Day 18 - Off to Coban, first stop Las Grutas del Rey Marcos

On Monday morning, Neto, Regis, Sergio, David and I loaded up the car and drove off to Coban. Near Coban there are many caves to visit. We started with the Grutas del Rey Marcos. To enter the caves, we had to put on helmets and rubber boots. Thank goodness for the helmets! I bumped my head at least 5 times. The entrance into the caves was tiny and splippery. We followed the path along a river, crossed over the river and into a bigger cavern area. It was trippy.

These caves are located in a "balneario", which is pretty much a park where you can go swimming in the river. So, not only were we able to go into the caves, we walked around and enjoyed the scenery.
