Day 2 - Xocomil y los Hostales del IRTRA

Late on the first day, Carlos drove us to a Burger King, where Sergio's best friend, Neto and his wife Chiky picked us up to take us their house. The next morning, we got up re-temprano (you need to put "re" in front of anything you want to emphasize...) and headed out to the amusements parks run by IRTRA in a town called Retalhuleu. All private business owners and workers pay a percentage of their paychecks to IRTRA (Institucion Recreativa del Trabajador???) and they get in for free at a water park called Xocomil and a theme park called Xetulul. Really nice parks. You'd never know you were in a third world country. Clean, well-run, modern... So, to get in, I was Neto's wife and Sergio was Chiky's husband because you can only bring in your spouse and children, not brothers, sisters, cousins... On Saturday, we went to Xocomil, the water park. Can you find David?

This is Natalia in her mermaid bathing suit. Natalia is the daughter of Neto's daugher, Luchy.Neto, la China (not the same one as at la Tila's house), Netillo, Chiky, la China's dad, David, me, Luchy, her husbank Otto, and Natalia in the strollerA study in abs, or lack thereof...

We stayed a couple of hours at the park, and then headed to the hotel area. Not only do members of IRTRA get into the parks for free, they get ridiculously good prices on hotels next to the parks. Los Hostales is a resort area with many different hotels in the style of different countries, with three pool areas, restaurants, a rec center, a spa, etc, etc... Super fancy. We stayed in La Rancheria, which is bungalow type, so we had a kitchen and stuff. But my favorite part was the pools - with waterfalls and such. It was heaven. The grounds were covered with lush vegetation and HUGE trees.

Otto y LuchyBet you didn't know that David could walk on water...
This is our ranchito :).

Neto y ChikyManga y Monky, aka Sormormujo, Sigi, Pirulin, Yeyo...
