Canon City Day 2 Morning
I really, really, really wanted to go rafting for my birthday, and it turns out this area is the most rafted in the world, so... here we are waiting for the bus to take us to the Arkansas River. We chickened out on going through the Royal Gorge, but next year we can do it.
The trip had a few fun rapids in it, but mostly it was a pretty relaxed ride down the river. Still, David had to wear a helmet because he's a minor.

Gorgeous, right? Not the river! My husband :) Okay, both...
Here's me with our guide, a psych student from Iowa. Never rafted before this summer. Comforting, eh? To the eyes at least...

At the mid-point, we got to jump into the river and "swim" a rapid. That was the best part! You take a leap, put your feet out in front of you, and let the current take you. Fun fun fun.
Sergio had the camera. This is him floating down the river.
David, ready for combat.

And here he is after getting out :) His glasses strap made his look so nerdy!

And me, enjoying the last part of the trip outside the boat.
It was a wonderful birthday. Thank you, Sergio!!!
